Nashville Predators Prospect Thread

Postby worstfaceoffmanever on 03 Feb 2009, 23:04

The thread title is pretty self-explanatory. All discussion of Predators prospects should go here.

What constitutes a prospect?

A player is considered a "prospect" if he meets the following criteria:
1.) Age 25 or younger at the beginning of any given NHL season (July 1 of given year).
2.) Fewer than 30 NHL games played at the beginning of any given NHL season.
3.) Is two years or less removed from his draft year and unsigned OR five years or less removed from his draft year and under contract. NCAA players are considered prospects for the duration of their NCAA eligibility, or if they are six years or fewer removed from their draft year and under contract.
Note: Players with standing contracts with the organization while playing elsewhere (AHL, ECHL, Elitserien, etc.) will be considered prospects provided they meet the above criteria.

Below is a listing of all Nashville prospects that meet the above criteria. This list includes players that are active on the Predators' NHL roster (these players are in bold). Players are listed by general position, and in alphabetical order:

Radulov is considered a "prospect"?

Thanks for catching that one. I guess I just noticed age and ignored the other criteria.

No, Radulov is definitely not considered a prospect. But we do still hold his rights.

As of today:

Blake Geoffrion is 7th in the Nation in power Play goals 8 PPG in 25 Games

Colin Wilson is 13th in point with 32 pts in 26 games, also he's 8th in the nation in assists with 23 assists in 24 games.
Do you think Alex Ovechkin pounds the headboard after sex like he pounds the glass after a goal?

Where can you find injury status/info about college prospects? Is there a good central location for college hockey info?

I ask because Thang went down in last night's ND at Ohio State game. Just wondering if he was long-term injured or just banged up.
Shea Weber owns.

He doesn't meet the criteria for a prospect anymore, but Konstantin Glazachev (to whom we retain the rights) now leads Barys Astana with 24 goals in 48 games. He's second on the team with 48 points (behind star defenseman Kevin Dallman, who is looking to break Fetisov's record of points by a defenseman) and leads all team forwards in shots and ice time. He's 9th in the league in goals and 12th in total points. I'm just glad he has more goals than Radulov, myself.

He's kind of small (6'0", 176), but I really do wonder what his interest is in coming over...

I like http://www.uscho.com hockeydb.com is also good too. For the Preds just pay attention to Boston University, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.

Brynäs beat the crap out of the best team in Sweden, 6-1, and Lindbäck looked mighty fine between the pipes.

Highlights here.

I liked this pick on draft day, and I still like it. He's really come into form for Brynäs. He's now got a .911 save percentage, a 2.73 GAA, and a shutout in 19 appearances. Considering the team in front of him, and that his save percentage was at one point under .900 and his GAA over 3.00, those numbers are really good.
