Team Marketing Report for last season

Team Marketing Report for last season

Postby ChasUK on 31 Aug 2009, 23:50

Over on the snail boards I posted a topic regarding beer prices.

I discovered that it took it's information in part from the official Team Marketing Report for last season.

Yahoo Sports Canada did an article on it and here it is. Links to the actual report results are in that article.

Bottom line, although we are not the most expensive team out there when you look at the whole "fan package", but we are staggeringly expensive when it comes to 'neck lube'.

No wonder we refuse to buy beer at games, hon! That said, with Fartuzzi now a Dead Thing, I may have to make an exception for myself on those nights...!

I'm more a Carlsburg kind of guy, but a Yuengling will do in a pinch.

Really guys, I can appreciate the need for economizing wherever possible, but we desperately need the Preds to make money so I simply feel as citizens of PredNation we should seek another line item in our budget to cut rather than money that will make its way into the Predator's treasury. Considering the cost of the tickets & parking, paying a few bucks more than reasonable for a beer is not going to break anyone.

Frankly, under the circumstances, I don't think the guy who sneaks a peanut butter and jelly sandwich into the game or deprives himself of a couple of beers that he would really enjoy is the coolest dude in the building.

In the vein of marketing, interesting to see that on the new center ice paint, 3 of the 4 logos are ones I've never seen there before...that's either really good news (high demand) or bad news (they were bargain shoppers and we were desperate)

Actually, from what I have been hearing, the latter.
Do you think Alex Ovechkin pounds the headboard after sex like he pounds the glass after a goal?

I don't see $7 bucks as a 'few bucks more' for beer. $2 or $3 would be closer to 'a few bucks more'.

Yeah, that's what I figured.

Tracy,

I recently saw a montage of classic adds and in one Eddie Adams was encouraging her viewers to buy Muriel Cigars by singing "HEY BIG SPENDER!!! SPEND A LITTLE DIME ON ME." Ah, cigars for 10 cents, those were the days.

A few days ago I patronized Boscos and spent about $4.50 for a glass of beer. My last Pred game last March I believe I had a really fine cup of Yuengling and spent $6.35 for the pleasure.

As I so sagely said ". . .a few bucks more than reasonable. . ."

Come on guys IT'S NHL HOCKEY RIGHT HERE IN NASHVILLE TENNESSEE. SPRING FOR A FEW BUCKS NOW, OR BE VERY SORRY FOR A LONG, LONG TIME LATER.

Well, shoot, you can get a whole six pack of Yuengling at Kroger for $7 when it's on sale. Why spend money at all? Just drink the water from the fountain. It's kind of cold. So it doesn't dull the pain when we lose...just take an ibuprofen (generic, of course) and be done with it.

Sometimes I buy a beer, sometimes I don't but to be honest the price is not that important because I only buy one if I want it and I can afford it right then. And I am pretty sure that we offer a 16 oz beer (or whatever "small" is) for around $5, so I think the whole report is out of whack.

As for the sponsors--even the bargain shoppers can sometimes end up being quite a coup. Sommet Center started out as a boards advertiser (but it had a different name), then sponsored the arena for the playoffs and later bought the naming rights. You just never know.
Hey, where the hockey at?
