Obama and the Olympics

Obama and the Olympics

Postby Bigfatcat999 on 02 Oct 2009, 18:36

Just because you are the first black president doesn't mean the rest of the world gives two #####. Fantastic move by the IOC giving the games to a contenant which hasn't hosted a games ever.

I've already stated elsewhere that I'm glad Chicago didn't get the Olympics because of the mess that would have been Northern IL, NW IN and SE WI.

I was overjoyed when Chicago was not only eliminated, but indeed was the first city to be eliminated after another embarrassing overseas performance by Obama and his obnoxious wife.

Anything that results in the loss of prestige for this President is in the long-term best interests of the United States.

I just love the arrogance. Most knew Rio was going to win but Obama comes down to Denmark thinking his shear presence would turn the tide. He has time for a trip to the IOC but not for his commander in Afghanistan. Which is ironic since most military men would love to not see their Commander in Chief but when the commander is asking for more troops and the President says, "I'll get back to you on this." it's a crying shame.

I thought everybody did what Oprah said. Maybe Europe hasn't gotten that memo yet.

Whiskey (And not that good Tennessee kind the crap they make in Kentucky) Tango, Foxtrot.

What the frigging hell did Obama do to with the Nobel Peace Prize? All this is going to do is add to the aire of arrogance that surrounds Obama. When I woke up this morning and saw this I asked myself "For what?" Then I saw the same thing on Drudge I thought to myself this may be a tipping point for the Obama administration and not a good one. In the end, we could strap magnets to Alfred Noble's spinning corpse and turn him into the first perpetual motion dynamo and solve the world energy problems. Maybe this is the commitee's way of showing Obama can improve the world.

Not hard to understand at all! European socialists, Norwegian division, award the prize. European socialists hate the United States. They sense that in many ways Obama hates the United States AND HE IS PRESIDENT of the country. This award is simply a little material token of their joy to have one of their own as President of the United States.

Directly from Alfred Nobel's will:
"...the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."

The reasoning for Obama, I would suspect, is that simply by his election to the office of President of the United States, he has improved the "fraternity between nations", reducing the "standing armies", and the "holding and promotion of peace" talks. IOW - because he's not W, the rest of the world actually wants to talk to us now.

I don't know about any of y'all, but that is like backing into a large fortune.
